An iconic black/dark grey silk oversized T-shirt by Katharine Hamnett. The slogan STAY ALIVE IN 85 printed in large, white block capitals on the front and back.
This T-shirt is an important example of popular designer fashion in the 1980s and appears in the collections of several museums around the world. This particular slogan was inspired by Hamnett’s interest in and support for women’s anti-nuclear protests at Greenham Common airbase in the UK.
